The Legend Of The Four Great Gods Of Ancient China
The Four Ancient Gods of China: One is the king of all gods, one is the king of all divine beasts, with unmatched strength, and the remaining two are brothers who have made great contributions to humanity.
Jade Emperor, the King of gods
The Jade Emperor, also known as the Jade Emperor the Great, is named Haotian.
Although Haotian is not a creator god, his position in Chinese folk mythology is extremely high.
Like the emperor of the mortal world, the Jade Emperor controls 36 heavenly realms, 3000 worlds, and 72 earthly realms. He has absolute power over all celestial beings, including gods, immortals, buddhas, saints, the mortal world, and the underworld.
Therefore, he is called the Jade Emperor the Great, or Haotian Emperor.
Fuxi, the Human King
In ancient times, humanity was completely ignorant of nature. The weather changed, the sun and moon moved, and humans were born, grew old, got sick, and died. No one knew what all these phenomena were or how they came about.
Fuxi often looked around him, up at the clouds in the sky, rain, snow, lightning, thunder, wind, and fog. He also observed flying birds and running animals. He pondered the laws of heaven and earth, the changing of things, the blooming and withering of flowers, and the changes of yin and yang.
From this, he created the 《Five Elements and Bagua》, laying the foundation for the development of human civilization. Therefore, Fuxi was known as the “Human King” Fuxi.
Nuwa the Mother
Nuwa, also known as Nuwa the Mother, is a goddess in Chinese mythology who is said to have created humanity.
She used clay to mold the first humans and founded human society.
However, the fire god Zhurong and the water god Gonggong fought, causing the collapse of the Buzhou Mountains, which split the sky apart. The Black Dragon also caused havoc among the people.
Nuwa was heartbroken by the suffering of the people, so she killed the Black Dragon, cut off the legs of the Giant Turtle, and used them to support the four corners of the sky. She also used five-colored stones to repair the sky.
Hou, the King of all divine beasts
According to legend, Hou was transformed from the skull of Pangu and has an invincible body. Even Nuwa, Fuxi, and Haotian could not break Hou’s body.
During the time when the Yellow Emperor was fighting Chiyou, Hou took advantage of the opportunity to cause havoc in the human world.
Nuwa and Fuxi stand together to destroy Hou. But they could not hurt Hǒu even a little. At a dead end, Fuxi used the 8 Trigrams Formation to trap Hou. Nuwa took out Hou’s soul and divided it into 3 parts to seal.
Unexpectedly, the three souls of Hou broke the seal and escaped. Later, the three soul fragments and Hǒu’s body became the four primordial zombies.
